I am originally from Munich, where I grew up and went to school.
If I had to pinpoint at one thing that sparked my interest in art, it would definitely be growing up with my two brothers. All three of us were very passionate about drawing and comic books. This passion has stayed with me ever since.
After school, I trained as a tailor at the Bavarian State Opera. Moving to Berlin to study fashion design at Kunsthochschule Berlin Weißensee inspired my first graphic novel, Herrengedeck, which I self-published in 2008. A year of Erasmus studies at ESA Saint-Luc in Brussels resulted in my first publication in France: Les Pieds Dans Le Béton. This book was created in collaboration with scenarist Nicolas Wouters, with whom I also produced a second book, Totem. I then started writing my own scenarios, resulting in my last three graphic novels: The Thud, Golden Boy and der verkehrte-himmel. I also regularly give comic workshops and perform live readings.
